Here is a possible explanation for why Jessica Biel wasn't wearing an engagement ring at the Golden Globes 2012, despite the fact that reports had been pouring in that Justin Timberlake had proposed: she didn't like the ring.

The latest print issue of The Enquirer (story via here) claims that Justin did pop the question to Jessica on a romantic break back in December as speculated, but she was disappointed with the ring.

She's not a fancy girl, unnamed sources say for the tab, but she really wanted a sparkler she could show to her friends – and the one Justin gave her was anything but.

So, she had him promise he'd get her a new one.

In other words, the report claims, they're engaged but she's not wearing a ring right now because Justin is still looking for the perfect diamond for her.

“When Justin proposed to Jessica, she was disappointed with his choice of ring,” an unnamed spy says for the publication.“Jessica isn’t a fancy girl, but she wanted something stunning – a bigger diamond that would impress her friends. Instead, Justin went more minimal, thinking she’d prefer something less flashy,” adds the insider.

They didn't fight or anything. Jessica told Justin how she felt and what she expected from him, and he was very understanding.

In fact, the report alleges, he's now shopping for a ring, even turning to his mother for help with it.

“Jessica told Justin that although she was moved by his proposal, she wanted a ring with more bling,” the spy explains.

“He was very understanding, and told her that she deserves to have what she wants. To placate her, Justin has not only enlisted his mom for help with her ring, but he’s going to propose all over again,” adds the spy.

“Justin will tide Jessica over with a ring – one that she’s happy with,” the insider concludes.

As of right now, neither Justin nor Jessica has confirmed the engagement but, word online has it, they would have denied the rumors by now if there was no truth to them.

The 29-year-old actress — who is in a relationship with Justin Timberlake — is keen to start a family one day, but it isn’t something she is currently thinking about.

“I’d like to have children one day but I don’t have any timetable for that,” she said.

“It’s not something I’m thinking about right now.”

The New Year’s Eve star recently admitted she is in no hurry to get married.

And, how is it that Biel and Timberlake had a public fight and only the aces at In Touch know about it?

Oddly, the scoops at In Touch missed that somehow.

And what were they discussing about marriage that caused the “bickering”?

In Touch doesn’t answer that because there never was a fight, says a source who was at the dinner.

Oh, and if the “spat” was so bad, why were they together two nights later at the same hotel, celebrating Timberlake’s GQ “Men of the Year” cover?

Jessica Biel has been offered one of the two female leads in Columbia's reboot of "Total Recall," the 1990 Arnold Schwarzenegger sci-fi action movie directed by Paul Verhoeven.

According to Variety, Colin Farrell is starring as Douglas Quaid while Bryan Cranston will play the villain Vilos Cohaagen.

The 1990 film and reboot are based on the Philip K. Dick short story "We Can Remember It for You Wholesale."

It is unknown which of the two female leads (Lori and Melina) Biel has been offered.

In the 1990 film, Sharon Stone played Lori and Rachel Ticotin played Melina.

Len Wiseman is directing from a script by Kurt Wimmer.

Neal Moritz is producing through his Sony-housed Original Film production company.

"Recall" follows Douglas Quaid, a man haunted by a recurring dream of journeying to Mars who buys a literal dream vacation from a company called Rekall Inc., which sells implanted memories. Quaid comes to believe he is a secret agent and ends up on a Martian colony, where he joins the fight to overthrow an evil ruler (Vilos Cohaagen) controlling the production of air.

The other female lead is that of Quaid's (now Colin Farrell) secret-agent wife Lori, who was originally played by the very sexy Sharon Stone.   

The "Total Recall" reboot is expected to radically differ from the original feature film, as it will more closely follow the novel "We Can Remember It for You Wholesale," written by the acclaimed sci-fi author Philip K. Dick.

"It's closer to the book, the big different is we don't go to space," explained producer Neal Moritz.

"Instead of it being a spaceship that takes us to another planet, there's something that takes us from one side of the plane to another that's really interesting."

Sure, we all know that Biel is smokin’ hot and all, so don’t get me wrong. But does she have what it takes to play Melina - who is admittedly, er, a little rough around the edges?

Based on the original film, I would say absolutely not.

Then again, I do have to concede the cult classic is being rebooted, and as part of that, the roles are obviously (radically?) reinterpreted.

Yet, I’m not sure I would feel comfortable with Biel taking on the role of Lori either.

Sharon Stone did a (literally) kick-ass job of portraying the classic femme fatale, and I am loath to imagine another actress taking her place.

 Of course, that is the age-old problem with reboots.

The actors of an original film achieve archetypal status in our minds, making anyone else playing the role a sad disappointment.

I mean, can you imagine a Star Wars reboot of the original trilogy?

Who would take on the role of Han Solo, for example? Princess Leia? Lando Calrissian?

No one.

Deciding to break up with someone is never easy, especially if your relationship has the longevity that theirs did. But using the age-old method of listing pros and cons can make the process easier. But making the decision is the easy part. The actual breaking up is trickier. If you genuinely still like and respect the person, then the breakup should be kind, honest, and handled in person. Do not take a cue from the Sex and the City episode where Berger breaks up with Carrie via a Post-It note. Your blunt honesty will help their acceptance occur more quickly, say in a month or five.

And though it may make you feel better temporarily to be vengeful or mean, you want to be able to walk away from the relationship with your head held high, knowing that you were a good person and handled it properly. Plus, you never know when your paths might cross again, say in 10 years when you’re applying for a new job and the person interviewing you is his wife.

She said, “There’s a heightened sense of concern when you’re doing something so beloved around the world. Hopefully, people will come and see it and make whatever judgement they want.”

Although the set was fueled by testosterone, the brunette beauty, who is currently dating pop heartthrob Justin Timberlake, enjoyed working with nearly all men.

She said, “It was super-manly, but fun. They loved having some female energy. The make-up girls would come in and they just flocked to all the women on set. “It was nice to have men and women together. All testosterone, all oestrogen – a little too much of one is never good. “I didn’t get to do as many stunts as I would have liked,” she said.

“The boys got to do a lot more than I did so I was desperate to do anything I could. I did get to fire a lot of big guns though. That was fun.”

Biel — who’s currently dating singer Justin Timberlake — recently revealed she doesn’t keep up with the latest trends.

“I just throw on whatever is comfortable. Other days I will torture myself — do I want to do funky and cool, or feminine?” she told American Glamour.

A lovely-looking Jessica Biel brought her disarming personality to the Hollywood premiere of The A-Team on Thursday night, where she talked about her knowledge of, well, arms:

"I learned to shoot an M4 and a 9MM Beretta," Jessica told our own movie guy Ben Lyons outside the Grauman's Chinese Theatre. "When you understand a gun and understand how to run it safely, it's the most empowering feeling."

As for what it was like working with essentially an all-male cast, Jess says it was really never an issue.

"Yeah, it was a little bit of a boys' club, but in a real positive way. They're such nice people. I never felt like an outsider, that I didn't belong there."

Maybe along the way she learns that their methods aren’t so bad. “If I could be an eighth of her, that would be amazing. I feel like we share a similar quality with I guess ambition and career, drive. I feel like I’m probably quite ambitious and so is Sosa. But she also has that quality of not being afraid and of being an adrenaline junkie. I share that a little bit but that no fear, balls to the walls quality that all of these characters share and the people in real life who do these jobs have those qualities. They’re not very serious people. They’re wildly outrageous and fun and smart and witty. I would kill to be like that.”

I then blow dried her hair with a large round brush to give the hair some lift and movement.”He goes on: “When all her hair was dry, I sprayed a good amount of Dove Flexible Hold Hairspray with Natural Movement all over to give the hair hold, but still allow movement without becoming too stiff or sticky.”
